Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between non-clinical counselling and clinical therapy?
Clinical therapy involves licensed psychologists working with formally diagnosed mental health
conditions such as OCD, bipolar disorder, or severe depression under a treatment protocol. Non-
clinical counselling supports people managing everyday emotional and relational challenges – stress,
life transitions, relationship difficulties – without requiring a psychiatric diagnosis. Both services are
professional, structured, and evidence-informed.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to access non-clinical services at Psypathology?
No referral is needed. You can contact Psypathology directly, describe what you are experiencing,
and our team will recommend the most appropriate service and counsellor for your situation. The
process is simple and private, and it begins at your pace.
Are online sessions available?
Yes. All non-clinical services are available in both in-person and online formats. Online sessions are
conducted via secure video call and are fully confidential. Many clients find the flexibility of online
sessions helpful, particularly for stress management, counselling, and coaching programmes.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies based on the nature of your concern and the goals you set with your
counsellor. Many people experience meaningful progress within 4 to 8 sessions. Your counsellor will
review progress with you regularly and adjust the plan accordingly. There is no pressure to continue
beyond what is useful to you.
Can organisations book non-clinical sessions for their employees?
Yes. We offer customised corporate wellness packages including on-site stress management
workshops, group resilience sessions, one-on-one employee counselling, and EAP-linked services.
Contact us with your employee count and objectives to receive a tailored proposal.
Will my information be shared with anyone?
All sessions are strictly confidential. Information shared during counselling is not disclosed to any
third party, including family members, employers, or other healthcare providers, without your explicit
written consent. Confidentiality is upheld in line with RCI ethical guidelines and professional
standards of conduct.
